Dell Precision 670 / 100MHz PCI-x vs. 133MHz PCI-X compatability?

  1. Newbie workstation question - I want to pick up an inexpensive workstation with some decent RAM capacity and PCI-X slots. I see the 670 supports 100MHz PCI-X. What happens if I plug a 133MHz PCI-X card into that 100MHz slot? Does it just downgrade the card's performance (it would be a RAID card) or does the card just not function? Thanks for any help.

i think it just downgrades the speed from 133MHz to 100MHz but im not 100% sure

I actually have one of those machines but I've not tried putting much else into it. I would assume Dustin hit it on the head though - but I doubt you'll see much difference on your RAID performance.
