Desktop icons won't work..

every time i click an icon on my desktop, it brings up the "open with" box. it also does this with my start button icons. i just recently had XP Antivirus Pro 2010 on my laptop... don't know how it got there but it did. I wasn't able to get online or do anything. so... i did a system restore to last week and now nothing works. any ideas?

what you installed was a spyware, always check online whether a software u are installing is really something useful or is it a spyware

Yes you are still very much affected by the virus, and you will need to make sure you follow the 8-Step Virus & Malware Removal Instructions in the Malware Forum. There are very helpful people in there to help with this
