  1. Anyone know how i can dial a modem from a LAN connection? I'm trying to connect to a remote modem from my broadband. I can do it via a dial-up connection if i use my 56k, but, if i have broadband why should i pay to use dial up? :)

You cannot. DSL signal shares the wire with telephone but that is all to it.

There is no way you can dial a number via that unless you get yourself some IP telephony system.

it's a bit unclear exactly what you're asking, but for a lan you'll need broadband/dsl. dial up is trucky, slow, and requires advanced setup on one comp.
