Hello,
Just recently my internet stopped working properly using IE and Firefox. Actually is seems to work fine until, i start to download something, like an attachment, or I try watching a video (youtube, netflix...) then my computer slows down immensely. When i'm downloading the attachment or doing a speedtest i watch the download start at 400+ kbps and rapidly decline to 15-30kbps. And then my whole internet is slowed down. I ran scans for viruses with trend micro, windows defender, and spybot. I really have no idea how to fix this, please help!!

Unless you've just recently installed a new program, why don't you take a shot at restoring you machine to an earlier time. Just run it back to before the trouble started, can't hurt.

Also you've got a lot of junk running on that computer. I usually trash the google update. it never updates anything, it's just spyware. (Or at least that's my opinion of it).

Daemon Tools can cause problems, plus you've got several browser toolbars. HP seems like they think the machine still belongs to them also.

It might not be a bad idea to open up the Task Manager while this problem is occurring, to get an idea of CPU and memory usage.

It's suggested that you upload these log files in text format as an attachment. (Please don't shoot the messenger).

I'm far from the last word on HJT logs, so I always recommend waiting for a second opinion.

okay, I tried the system restore. But unfortunately it didn't work. In the task manager the CPU usage fluctuates between 5-15% and the physical memory reads 44%, and I really don't know what that means. Now I see where I can upload such attachments and won't make that mistake again, thanks; I thought having all that written out was a little ridiculous. And what do you mean that HP thinks the machine belongs to them?

You need to check for malware, ( with a different checker than you have) When you are certain it is not caused by malware then you need to make sure that it is not due to processes running.
You have loads of stuff that doesn't need to be on, but that shouldn't really make a massive difference.
Try a live linux cd & if you still have a problem it may be a hardware issue, otherwise it is software related

is malwarebytes any good? My problem with processes running is that I have no clue what should and should not be running, or how to stop things from running aside from opening the task manager.

okay, finally made it through to step 8.

It took forever because my downloading averaged about 8kb/s. Here are my results.

Any malware should be cleared, we hope.
Is the pc runninng normally when disconnected from the net? Is it only the internet that slows the pc?
Have you tried a different router ? or Try a friends lappy on the router? You need to go over everything possible as although you did have infections, it may be something else. Try booting with a live linux cd (ubuntu)
As a last last resort you can reinstall windows on to a reformatted drive. You will need the win disk and have made a backup of all files you need ( media photos docs), including all drivers. All progs will need reinstalling

Yes, the pc only runs slow online, i can play games and dvds without any issue. I think the problem is the modem because I tried bypassing the router and plugging the modem directly to the computer and that made no change. So, then I plugged the router back in and tried downloading a demo on my PS3 and it started fast but rapidly declined in speed and wouldn't even download pictures after that. It's exactly the same issue with my computer. I tried unplugging the modem and turning it off for a couple hours. nothing new.

Re-run superantispyware and malwarebytes (that log shows there were two infected files); clean out everything they find. Then re-run both of them again along with hijack this and post the logs in Virus and malware forum.
