Dvd Drive Problem

    hi everybody...
    i'm having a problem with my sony DVD rom drive...
    when i enter a disc it wont respond ie. the busy light is on all the time...
    but when i restart t functions properly and runs as if nothing is wrong ...
    but when i change the disk, same problem...
    each time i wish to enter a disk i have to restart my computer...
    what could be the problem???
    help me please...

    Is it just DVD's it won't read or cd's as well?
    Have you checked all the cable connections?
    Is it being recognised in Windows......... check in device manager.
    If it is and it won't read either disc I suspect it needs replacing.

    I don't know about DVDs, but when a CDROM does this, it is usually bad and needs to be replaced.
