DVD-RW LDW-411s

Hi,

My DVD-RW LDW-411s is not burning data onto blank DVDs. Basically when I load up Nero, it doesn't recognise blank DVD discs and doesn't allow me to click the 'Burn DVD' icon on Nero. However when I insert a DVD ROM disc, such as Quake 4, it is able to recognise this. This has stopped copying DVD's all of a sudden. It would be great if someone could tell me why this is happening and what can be done to restore the copying feature on the DVD-RW. Thanks.

It could be a bad drive and yes, it is perfectly possible to read DVDs but not burn them.

Also, if you've recently switched your media, it could be new brand/model of media is not compatible with your burner.

Just some ideas.

Thanks, will give them ago, does anyone else have any ideas why it might not be burning?
