dvd'S written, hang and pixelate

I have a new computer with 16X DVD writer. I am making backups of family home movies using DVD Extreme from 321 studios. The dvd copy (or backup), hangs and pixelates or blocks many times throughout the playback. Am using 16X media to match the writer. Any suggestions? 321 studios is out of business and of no help.

Are you getting playback problems on the DVD burner itself or on a commercial home DVD player? Not all home burned DVDs will play on all commercial home DVD players. Try different brands of media. Some appear to work with some burners better than others. Just curious, which format are you using, + or - ?
