eMachine motherboard replacement HELP Please?

Well u know, not ALL of us are puter genius' and shouldn't have to be! One should be able to trust a company to NOT rip you off! How much do u have to pay for a "long lasting computer" and which brand? I've read so much online and consumer reports, and just ended up more confused! Seems everyone has a different opinion and think the generic, self made puters are the best? I got a shock unplugging a vacuum at Staples the other day so I dont' think I should try building one
And I still submitted my complaint about emachines to the BBB and I'm not the ONLY one.
PS I thought I just read that Acer bought Gateway in 2007??

What to do?

I have an emachine t2984 that died a few months after the best buy warranty expired (basicly worthless anyway).
PS died & apparently took the mb with it. New ps & green light comes on but that is it.

I see a lot of conflicting opinions on replacing the mb with a close facsimile & being able to use the existing hd with current data.
I have an intel d845gvsr board;

1. if I replace it with another 845gv series board will I be able to use the existing hd with data in place & reactivate windows?
2. be able to re-install the oem xp home?
3. have best results from buying another d845gvsr?

If there is no chance of using the existing oem windows xp that I have I will most likely get a much stronger board & processor.

i was woundering if anybody could help me? I have a w3052 eMachine and of course the problem is the mobo. What mobo should I us?

Yes i would have to agree the are junk. Now i have the same problem with my T2245. I need a mobo that i can drop right in and go with it? With the mobo use suggested can i use the same in mine. Here on the spec on the board that was in there.

just wanted to let some of you know,i replaced a au31 board with a am37 board from a compaq i had sittin in my shed, i then used my restore dvd and it worked. i just didnt have sound,but i uaed a soundblaster card i had and it worked.

Emachine Mother board

Can you tell me which motherboard I can use for a replacement on this Emachine. it is model T6420 and Motherboard is MB,MS-7202 I like the brand ASUS . I call Emachine and they no longer have the part.. what about your CPU, Fan etc did they fit on board? what is in this emachine now is CPU, AMD ATH64 3400 2.2GHz 1600FSB 512K 939P

Do you still repair Emachine?? My father in law has a T6420 and his Motherboard just died.... what board do you recommend? what price do you have on them ? what other information do you need.......... HELP PLEASE
