Ive got a radeon 9800 pro off my friend. Im guessing its faulty cos the screen goes all distorted. Look at the pic:

Is there any way to fix a problem like this?

And secondly ive got a 9500 pro. In device manager it says "radeon 9500 pro/ 9700. And in rivatuner it tell me i have the 256bit R300 with 8 pipelines. The core is clocked at 263 and memory is 562. What do i have?? Im using the omega 2.6.25 drivers by the way.

And lastly how would the 9500 pro compare to a geforce 6200a, the one with a 64bit memory interface.

Thanks.

Looks like the 9800 is bad. You also lucked out and got a 9500 Pro with a 9700 core. You can use soft modded drivers and turn the card into a 9700. Check here http://www.techpowerup.com/. The 6200 is crap and the ones with 64bit memory are royal crap.

Hi schnewb probably a late post but i had a 9700 pro which done exactly the same thing as your card and now shes in the bin sorry for the bad news also if your into gaming stay well away from 64 bit cards they suck 128 bit and 256 bit are the only way to go, Cheers Herb

Ive been reading about overclocking the 9500 pro i have, which has the 9700 256bit core. I can only go about 15mhz above normal settings on the ram and slightly more on the core before the display goes distorted. Would this tiny overclock mean i have a card that has a bios lock, as some ati cards do. What could i do to go higher?

Im using the 2.6.25 omega drivers by the way.

Any help would be appreciated.
