What is your favorite song? You can list more than one if you like.

For me (in no particular order):

1. Footloose by Kenny Loggins
2.Weapon of Choice by Fatboy Slim
3. Everybody Jam! by Scatman John
4.The Rockafeller Skank by Fatboy SLim
5.You Spin me Right 'Round by Dead or Alive
6.Remember the Time by Michael Jackson

Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer

Grandma got run over by a reindeer
Walking home from our house Christmas eve
You can say there's no such thing as Santa
But as for me and Grandpa, we believe

She'd been drinkin' too much egg nog
And we'd begged her not to go
But she'd left her medication
So she stumbled out the door into the snow
When they found her Christmas mornin'
At the scene of the attack
There were hoof prints on her forehead
And incriminatin' Claus marks on her back

Grandma got run over by a reindeer
Walkin' home from our house Christmas eve
You can say there's no such thing as Santa
But as for me and Grandpa, we believe

That's some good rock n' roll, learninmypc! I really dig ACDC -- and Jimmy Page, too, of course.

I don't think I have one particular favorite song. I usually latch on to a song for a few months, listening to it over and over, then move on to another song. I cycle through my blues and rock n'roll favorites, going back to old songs every so often. The truly good ones always sound new.

2. Skillet (contd.)
Monster

3. Civil Twilight: Letters From The Sky

4. Green Day
21 Guns
American *****
Boulevard of Broken Dreams
5. Rise Against
Give It All
Dirt 'n' Roses

Not necessarily in that order.

Do any of these sound familiar?

Jackson Browne, "Call it a Loan"

Loreena McKennitt, "Bonny Portmour"

Mary-Chapin Carpenter, "You Never had it so Good"

Martina McBride, "Independence Day"

Garth Brooks, "The Beaches of Cheyenne"

Bryan Adams, "Summer of '69"

Pink Floyd, "Comfortably Numb"

The Who, "Pinball Wizard"

Sarah MacLachlan, "Angel"

Don Henley, "The Boys of Summer"

I suppose that would be a "top ten".

And maybe Linda Ronstadt, "Silver Threads & Golden Needles"

And last but not least, my current favorite, Carrie Underwood, "Inside Your Heaven"

Selections subject to change if my memory returns...

Oh yes, and two folk rock masterpieces by, The Strawbs:

"The Hangman & the Papist"
(Protestant brother is forced to hang his own Catholic brother for sassing the king of England).

"Beside The Rio Grande" (OK, the back story on this one is, a preacher goes into the American Southwest, talks about love and peace, then gets strung up for his troubles. This gem is actually a parody on the Passion of Christ (in Am))!

Not on your playlists?

^I like "Call it a Loan", "Comfortably Numb", "Angel" and "The Boys of Summer".

"Pinball Wizard" is among my all time favorites. That opening guitar riff is rock n' roll heaven. Pete Townshend is a great songwriter. As a guitar player, I think he's woefully underrated.

Summer of '69 and Comfortably Numb, yes. Used to be at the top of my list till Nickelback and Eminem started replacing them! :D
