Floppies & airport x-rays

  1. Is there a definitive answer these days about whether the x-rays at airport screenings can damage floppy disks?

    Last time I flew, I just asked for them to be hand-searched instead, but you never know if those guys will give you a hard time.

    Xrays make no problems for floppies, it's magnets and high temperatures that you need to worry about.

    ahhh, but remember in the good ole days when you had a bad 5.25 or 8inch floppy and you could put it in the microwave to clear it of bad sectors!
