I WAS PLANNING TO BUY A NEW ETHERNET CARD AND ROUTER, WOULD IT MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN ONLINE GAMING,OR DOWNLOADING?

A router perhaps, but I doubt a NIC would make any difference unless you're currently experiencing issues that are isolated to your NIC.

As mentioned a new nic wouldn't make a difference. a decent router possibly would.
