This is what im constantly getting running world of warcraft

This application has encountered a critical error:

    ERROR #132 (0x85100084) Fatal exception!

    Program: D:\WoW\World of Warcraft\WoW-64.exe
    ProcessID: 2340
    Exception: 0xC0000005 (ACCESS_VIOLATION) at 0033:00000001402AD4A4

The instruction at "0x00000001402AD4A4" referenced memory at "0xFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF".
The memory could not be "read".

it was running fine today. I don't know if its because of directx9 or maybe because I am on skype while playing

You should have DX11 installed in Windows 7. Make sure Windows is fully updated by running Windows Update manually from the all programs menu. Run it until no more updates are found, then run it again

Ran it. Tried installing updates. Updates failed to install. Looked up error and clicked on link to send me to microsoft page to download and install a hot fix. Hot fix failed to install. Did a system restore, computer restarted. Checked updates which it said windows is up to date. Clicked on "check for updates". Waiting for the past 10 minutes for computer to check for updates and still waiting. Is that normal?

Well finally got updates installing. but now its been stuck on 57% for a very long time. Almost stop installation, but I'll be as patient as I can be and hope it completes.

Maybe you have a virus or other malware type infection. What antivirus program are you running?
  6. Makalf Newcomer, in training Posts: 32

I downloaded Microsoft security essentials. I'm worried if I buy norton anti virus I will still have a problem. Error codes suggested I put in windows DVD n upgrade so I'm currently doing that and waiting for it to finish

You don't have 2 antivirus programs installed do you? You really need to delete Norton ASAP

I only have security essentials installed. Any program u reccomend I install?

Upgrade finished n when windows loaded back up. A Microsoft .Net Framework box opened up mentioning setup has detected .NET Framework version 4 needs to be repaired. Do not restart until setup is complete.

It's been on this setup window for the past 30 minutes

MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials) is good and add this temp file cleaner:
    http://www.memtest.org/
    How are the updates going?

Its going bad. I ended task for the setup. Went and downloaded .NET Framework for site. Ran a repair install and it failed to repair.

Downloaded memtest to my usb and made it bootable. But umm, how do I boot from my usb?
  12. Makalf Newcomer, in training Posts: 32

Figured it out. Currently running memtest

I'm afraid that this isn't a memory issue. The update problems point to the "real" issue here. Is your copy of Windows legit?

I assume so, I ordered it from new egg

    Did it activate properly?

I had a tech store install it for me and they discounted me mentioning a problem with Firefox randomly crashing. He was testing it the morning I picked it up and said it hasn't done it since. He also mentioned that he thinks its the ssd. But according to you it's not. And I think you have a better idea what's going on than that tech store I went too.

I was gonna buy a new ssd from them and they said they would clone my ssd for free.

You have a nice system... This may be a simple bios setting. Is the SSD connected to a SATA 3 port and is the SATA controller set as AHCI?
  18. Makalf Newcomer, in training Posts: 32

Yes both my ssd and hdd are in sata3 ports and set to AHCI. I just shutdown my computer instead of restarting and now it has my updates installing before shutdown......

But of course nothing ever works, so I'm stuck on update 43 of 89

The computer is stuck on 43 after starting to shut down?
