    Win 7 64 Bit
    Intel G640 @ 2.8GHz (Dual)
    4 GB RAM
Radeon HD5450 was the new one that was having problems. I have since removed it and reconnected to old card that is integrated with motherboard.

I will try those links. So, disregard software that came in box with new card?

Yeah it is outdated, also you have a card that is 3 years old, so it will be very old on the CD. follow my steps and you should be good. also did you move from nvidia? just curious because this could bring in a lot of issues

Okay this is an older desktop PC... The power supply may be weak

Probably...My boss got a good deal on it. The tower and 21'' monitor with tax was $430

download cpuz, maybe updating the bios may help. but the weak PSU is definitely a issue

....You aren't talking to me are you? I don't know what to do...Unless that is your suggestion...

Yes, this is your thread, so I am talking to you. After trying all that we have tried, swapping the power supply would be the next thing to try

Ok...You phrased it like a question, I wasn't sure. 700W sufficient you think? Higher? Lower?
  14. JC713 TechSpot Guru Posts: 2,772   +203

I would say just talk to your boss. it is not worth replacing a PSU to such a old PC.
  15. fullbird Newcomer, in training Posts: 20

Computer was just purchased like 2 weeks ago. Boss is a bit of a cheapskate. A quick Google search, 450w PSUs can be had for around $30+, and 700w around $50+, so....

ohh, I thought this was old. that is odd. update the bios. what is the serial number on the pc or the model number
  17. fullbird Newcomer, in training Posts: 20

    Lenovo K410-11681KU
    Serial number : ES10027605
  18. JC713 TechSpot Guru Posts: 2,772   +203

    What version of windows?
  19. JC713 TechSpot Guru Posts: 2,772   +203

http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/ go here and type in your model (k410) and input whatever info it needs. their site is slow at the moment and they posted a message addressing it. find the bios driver and install it. did you try the video card installation I told you about?
  20. fullbird Newcomer, in training Posts: 20

    Not yet.
I am organizing inventory, a huge database, and accounting for the last 12 months (about $6M in transactions and inventory) with the previous person in my position apparently being either functionally retarded or some sort of monkey. Not to mention new data, receipts, invoices, etc. that I get throughout the day. I am doing the computer stuff when I can fit it in. Since I took out new vid card and reconnected to old one I have not had any BSODs. I want the new vid card so I can have dual monitors. I will try to get BIOS driver and do the video card installation as you described. It might be several hours.

    Just sayin....
