Getting random purple screen of death

Since the title of this thread is "Getting random purple screen of death"..., wouldn't it be more logical to think that it is a video driver or card problem because the error screen is purple rather than the normal blue color. With all that has been tried, a power supply really would be suspect

I am organizing inventory, a huge database, and accounting for the last 12 months (about $6M in transactions and inventory) with the previous person in my position apparently being either functionally retarded or some sort of monkey. Not to mention new data, receipts, invoices, etc. that I get throughout the day. I am doing the computer stuff when I can fit it in. Since I took out new vid card and reconnected to old one I have not had any BSODs. I want the new vid card so I can have dual monitors. I will try to get BIOS driver and do the video card installation as you described. It might be several hours.

Just sayin....

np, take ur time. why a 5450 though?
