Hmmm. Is daily life in itself not a science experiment? Must one actually possess a "PhD" to speak of their observations? In my humble opinion, what has occurred in the past year and a half around the world is a mandated by government lifestyle change. We have been mandated, to live our lives according to the lowest common denominator among us. Where a mask, get a shot, avoid crowds, close businesses, be afraid, as if we are all diabetic, weak, or have compromised immune systems. You speak of unanimous expert opinion that this virus is very serious, it's called peer pressure, and no level of intellect or PhD makes someone perfect. My personal observations throughout it all, have been that nearly everyone I know of that has had the virus, was better within 2 weeks at the most. People always want to amplify when this person or that just got covid, but they never report back when they're better. There is power in fear. It's been a year and a half, a whole host of vaccines, we have worn masks, done it all. Yet the numbers are inching back up? Maybe we can't stop it, maybe we should get back to living life to the fullest. P. S. I have several friends in the medical field, the pay outs for covid patients is real.
Again, it is your opinion. And that opinion is from someone with little to no medical expertise. That opinion has very little backing to it and is easily ignored, as pretty much anything said is hot air. Kinda like the people who think they know more than the HVAC guy when there is an issue.
I personally have never once been scared of covid, and my mask wearing was minimal. I'd wear it if I had a work shirt on, as no point in letting a Karen berate my company name. Need to look professional sometimes. I know a few young people that were lucky to live after getting covid. But for most the lack of taste and being tired was only side effect. I never got sick, but considering everyone in my office got it at some point I'm sure I did too.
Covid is just a test run of the worlds preparedness to a higher level viral threat. And as the past two years have shown us, we are not ready. Fear works both ways, these days you have more people fearing the medical experts and government. Which is just what corporations want you to believe. The real issue in this world ATM is not Covid, or any medical issues.
Covid was just a catalyst, Government feared a recession. But what actually took place was economic boom. Thanks to Capitalism and the relaxed government regulations because of covid. They pretty much had free reign to do what they wish. The real issue in the 1st world right now, mainly western world, is Debt load. There is little protection to keep the poor from being suckers to Debt. Covid is a mask to keep peoples eyes off the real issue.
People love to get new stuff. Want a new iPhone but can't afford it? Debt, we'll roll it into 24 monthly payments. Want a new Car? We'll roll it into 72 monthly payments. Want a new home? We'll roll it into 30 years of payments. Want that new Xbox? Put it on a CC @ 22% APR. Do you need a medical operation? That'll be 10K after insurance and we'll put you on a payment plan for the next 10 years, hope you don't need anything else....
Corporations like Apple have nothing to fear. So what if their device sold to someone that is a month behind on rent. That is not their fault.
So yeah, lets whine about Covid. While the avg human is allowed to become a debt slave. Sadly there are a lot of people with little to no retirement savings. But yet Covid is the real issue.
Problem right now is that people are able to make these monthly debt payments, but do so by living paycheck to paycheck.
Debt can be a good thing, if you have money. Money will make you money if you have it. Problem is most of these people dont. This is why Corporations like Capitol One have such high profit margins.
Normally Dropping supply and hiking up prices is illegal. But with Covid as a reason companies are making more than ever the last two years.
