Correct. No problem with no add-ons.
  2. Broni Malware Annihilator

    That's your problem then...

Start IE normally. Disable all add-ons.
    Restart IE.
Start enabling add-ons, BUT only one-by-one, restarting IE each time until you'll find the culprit.

    Main suspects - toolbars.

    Any other issues?

How do I disable the add-ons when it won't stay open? Thanks!
  4. Broni Malware Annihilator

    In that case....
    Close IE.
Go Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools, and click on Internet Explorer (no add-ons).
Go Tools>Internet options>Advanced tab and click on "Reset" button.
You should be able to start IE normally now.

That worked! Thanks! Sorry, holiday prep getting in the way. Everything is working MUCH better now. And I'm installing Windows updates. I'll let you know when I'm done. Thanks again so much for your help and Merry Merry Christmas!

Oh, one more thing. Do I have a defragmenter on my computer? What would it be called?
  8. Broni Malware Annihilator

    Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Defragmenter

Aha. That makes sense. So, Windows updates are all installed. I ran defragment analyzer and it said I didn't need defragmentation for my C: drive. Very surprising. So, am I all set then?

You're all set for Christmas :)
    Enjoy!

eek! small problem. I can't make or read PDFs anymore. I know you told me to delete some Adobe PDF Reader, but I used to have the PDF writer, too, and now I can't find either. Help?
  12. Broni Malware Annihilator

I guess, reinstall whatever you're using before...
