Got A 36Gb Raptor Need Help Please

    hey guys i just bought a 36gb raptor and there isnt any cables but apprently the only way to connect this is by buying a cable called secureconnect is this true??

    cant i use standard atx power cable and normal sata cable?

    any replies wud be helpful thx

    Hello there. First of all I wasnt aware of the existance of this "SecureConnect". So I decided to do a bit of poking around on the internet and I found something that might help you. It appears to me that you can just use a normal SATA Cable. the SecureConnect is a SATA cable that takes up both the SATA port and the SATA power port on the HDD, it is so that the cable doesnt come out of the HDD.

    Im 99% that you can use just a normal SATA cable with your raptor.

    Just so you know I dont own a raptor or even a WD HDD. I have a seagate.

    Maybe someone else can give you some more info, but from what I just read I am 99% sure you can use a regular SATA cable.
