Having freeze problem on games

  1. hi this is my first post i have freeze and slow down problem when playing games such as battlestar gallactica online and x3 tf in main battles and i was wondering if it was my graphics card
    system specs
    mainboard dell ohj054
    graphic inter pci express
    memory ddr2 dual 3072 mb
    cpu intel pent d930
    cpu speed 2394
    power supp dell h305p-00
    watt output 305w
    graphics radeon x1650 pro 512 mb
    screen res 1280 x 1024

    please i would be grateful for any advice

    Is XP updated to Service Pack 3? The Dell power supply might not be strong enough to power the graphics card properly

    yes it is a media centre edition version 2002 service pack 3

    So this computer is 9 years old?

    no five years old but has had a memory upgrade from 1gb to 3gb also graphics card upgrade only slows down when a lot of action on screen

    Did you buy it used? Did you install MC 2002 on a newer computer?

    computer came with that version installed

    Try replacing the power supply with at least 500 watts

    thanks fpr the advice i checked the power needs for my graphics card and it needs 350+watts so now i search for a compatable 500 watt psu for dell 5150 if you know of any sites i would be grateful
