I'm trying to install a Fujitsu MPG3307AT -hard drive to my Abit BE6 -motherboard. However, i can not get bios (or windows) to recognize this drive no matter how i try with different BIOS setup and modes. I'm trying to install it as secondary master and i've checked that the jumper on the HD is correctly positioned.
Any ideas how i will get this HD to work? Bios recognized the drive a couple times and it worked well in Windows. Suddenly i it just dissapeared and i havn't been able to make it work after that. Is this caused by teh mobo? Would uppgrading BIOS help?

    Any ideas appreciated!

    btw. Im using Win XP

What is your motherboard BIOS version?
It should be later than MU (1999/08/27) to support big hard drives. If it isn't do the upgrade.

Have you tried the HD on both IDE channels?

If you are using the 80 wire data cable then the plug you use matters. Blue goes to the motherboard, black is master, grey slave.

The BIOS is the LQ -version (if i remember correctly), so its apparently the oldes BIOS. I guess i should uppgrade BIOS.
