Help needed on removal of 540.filost

By hutchie
Jul 4, 2005
  1. First time user looking for help to remove 540.filost. Have reviewed previous threads and it seems that a HijackThis log is needed. Provided below:

Have had this malware for some time but today it has added new menu bars to the IE browser which seem to be versions of IE explorer as well as just menu bars! Is someone able to review the log and guide me on what to get rid of / what to do? It would be greatly appreciated.

Get rid of anything to do with these (UNinstall and completely delete):
    C:\Program Files\MessengerPlus! 3\MsgPlus.exe
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Secondholdmeowcast\WindowAcid.exe

Then go to this post and follow the instructions EXACTLY, especially about UPDATING and HJT-location.
How to remove Begin2Search/Coolwebsearch and Other Nasties

Then see How to post your Hijackthis log-files as an attachment.

And please post this in the Windows forum!

Thank you realblackstuff. Have completed your instructions and so far everything seems OK (after logging on again). Have attached the Hijackthis.log file per your instructions. Taken a little while to do this as have been partaking of some realblackstuff with your compatriots during the Lions Tour here in NZ. Cheers and many thanks!
