20 bucks is not a big deal. I'd say, go for it.

Today I opend the notebook, with fear, curiosity and a little bit of crazzyness.
Inside I found a TEAC DW-224E-34. I hope that the one I just buyed on e-bay it will be good enough to replace this one

Today I tried with a friend ( girl of course) to "clean" a HP Pavilion Dv7 laptop. I wish I wasn't a part of this. We followed step by step a video ...and well surprise surprise LCD does not start...well it doesn't do anything anymore but a small light showing that has power.
Can be that we didn't plug something right?
we disconected the vide cable from the connector on the motherboard and after that we placed back.
So we kind of went to far for our level.
Now, as I said the only thing that lights are the LED for power and battery...

ok , after reinstalling the windows 2002 XP Home edition, I just don't know how to connect the laptop to internet via wireless.
Before the laptop issues, I was using a wireless card lynksys. I have no ideea how to find the wireless . Everytime I try , i am getting just the option to plug a network cable ...

Do you have any errors in Device Manager?
What type of CD do you use to reinstall Windows?
What brand and model of laptop is it? Usually, laptops have slider/switch/button, which has to be engaged in order for wireless connection to work.
Did you check, if wired (ethernet cable) connection work?

To reinstall my windows I used the original installation CD's ( 2 of them ). The laptop is a Toshiba Satelitte 1410.
