Civilization V should be an excellent strategy but we still wait for the Diablo 3..Has anyone heard an announcement date?

Civ 5 was the exception to me buying new games. Every time I read a forum for a new game, its filled with reports of bugs and crashes. I'm supposed to pay 60 bugs to beta test a game?

I got some of those already. But no... I don't think I'd be buying games during the Christmas season but I'll try... I'll try to squeeze it in my busy schedule.

Somewhere in between sitting on my *** and staring on a blank wall.

I think Starcraft 2 is the game of the year in the pc sector.

This is to game developers. I dont knw whats so much in these shooting games? I love playing games maybe it strategy, adventure, action like contra or sports but i just dont like playing these shooting games. I dont know why there is so much of demand for such games. My main reason behind such games is that they can be true to life games and i dont like playing games which are linked to real life. Games r ment to be entertaining and stress buster. Therefore we like playing those games which has good theme and best graphics.. Or else why games like mario, jazz jackrabbit, harry potter, NFS, etc would be a hit?

Personally, this has been a very good year for video games. I haven't seen so many offerings that I was interested in since 2008. Now the question is, how to find the money and time to get to these

I don't know what bugs you guys are talking about on Civ V. I'm playing it right now (and man is it a time sink!), but the only bug I've noticed is when you task your "slaves" to build a railroad, sometimes they don't always go in the straightest line to connect cities. So I have them build one tile at a time to make sure they do it right.

Otherwise, the game runs without a hitch for me.

Also playing Fallout: New Vegas. There is SO much to do in that game it isn't even funny. I've probably put 20 hours into it already and have barely - I mean BARELY - scratched the surface.

Both games get two thumbs up from me. :)

I've got Mafia 2, Medal of Honor and this afternoon, got my copy of Call of Duty : Black Ops. A new GTX 580 would be nice for Christmas but until Santa grants my wish, I'm gonna to make do my GF 8800 GT and GTX 275 gaming rigs.

I agree with some of the other posters in that all these FPS games with slightly different mechanics arent cutting it anymore.
I am really missing my All Points Bulletin right now as it gave me the freedom to express myself through my character and be able to drive around a free roaming city. Alas, my days of multiplayer gaming are numbered though as droves of new "BUY THIS HACK" sites appear almost everyday for almlost every online multiplayer game.
Im quite enthralled at the moment with F:NV and playing in Rigs of Rods which is totally free and open source.
I will be looking forward to new NFS, Bioshock infinite, and next years RAGE by ID Software.

Give me the Vietnam Expansion for Battlefield: Bad Company 2, that along with the VIP Map Pack 7 should keep me satisfied for many months.

COD BO is here, so you can't be too sure, even though starcraft 2 is going to have two more expansions, thus it will sell even more.

Good list and i agree with most of them

Except for Medal of Honor and Star Wars Unleashed. Do yourself a favor and don't spent any money on those 2 games.

Thanks for the DeathSpank mention. That's the kind of game I would miss because it's not hyped enough, and it looks like something I'll enjoy.

yeah, i think cod is overrated and doesn't deserve all the attention it gets, but its still a great game. i don't know.. maybe its just cuz im not a huge fan of fps, i like rpgs and rts more. i also recently realized that games with too much motion blur makes me sick =( (playing cod or crysis for more than 1 hour is bad).
  18. Zecias TechSpot Booster Posts: 202

not by alot because of how much more popular fps are in general and how hyped up cod is. as the game gets cheaper, it will probably get even more sales. cod bo sold twice as much in 1 day than sc2 did in 1 month, i think that says something about how much more it sells. i woudn't doubt that cod bo will sell more than sc2 and the legacy of the swarm, the zerg expansion, combined.

This year was pretty awesome for PC gamers, but for me personally I'm more excited about next year with so many good titles being delayed. I'm already busy enough with older games, but additions like Mass Effect 2, Starcraft 2 & Battlefield Bad Company 2 have been keeping me very happy.

Speaking of Battlefield Bad Company 2, that game really should have made the list. The game retails now for $20 bucks on top of the Vietnam expansion and a map pack being released later this year which is just awesome. I recommend it to any online shooter fan who hasn't gotten around to it yet.

I highly doubt that Black Ops is the game of the year for most PC gamers. Starcraft 2 was one of the most anticipated games of recent memory and delivered quite well, while CoD is a yearly game that's solid but does come with issues.

Looking forward to Starcraft II, got a chance to play a bit of it with a friend's demo code, but I haven't had the money to buy it. Definitely on my Christmas list.
