How can I connect a reel to reel to a WinXP base PC to record music to burn to CD?
My dad has some old reel to reels that I would like to transfere to CDs. How do I connect to PC?
I read about the XP ad on Digital Media Edition that will convert to digital audio that will remove cracks and pops.

Any help appreciated.

Pretty simple. Most R2R's have RCA (typical phono) jacks. Most sound cards have 1/8" (like a walkman's headphone) stereo input jacks. All you need is a stereo RCA to 1/8" adaptor cable. Hook your R2R's output up to your sound card's input. Double click on your volume icon to get a full mixer. Now click options, properties, and tick recording. Now you have the recording mixer. You will need to select line input. Now launch your recording software, set up your parameter, hir record on the PC and play on the R2R. Hit stop when you're done, edit the file, save the file, and eventually make your CDs.

Good Luck.
