Hi, I just signed up and hope to get some assistance with my desktop, my Dell B110 does not have sound, the options under control panel are greyed out, under device manager I have a yellow question, I have uninstalled and re-installed and update drivers. Sys info is Windows XP,home edition, version 2002,service pack 3,Dell Dimension DE051 Intel (R) Celebron (R) CPU 2.53 GHz 1.00 GB of RAM.

Below are some of the messages I have received:

System unavailable to install sound program = message from box below:

    copy error

setup cannot copy the file senfilt.sys

Ensure thate the location specified below is correct or change and insert 'Install disk" in the drive you specify

    copy files from: c:\program files\analog devices\sounmax

    Other messages:

Cannot start program Code 10 troubleshoot or this device cannot start (Code 10)

thanks in advance for any suggestions :)

    File for Soundmax update wizard:

    C:\Dell\drivers\R94481\SMAXWDM\W2K_XP

Check this first: Right click My Computer->Properties->Hardware tab. Click the Driver Signing button. Is it set to Block?? If so, set it to Warn and check Make this action system default then OK. Then try installing your driver again

Go to device manager and "update" the drivers associated with your hardware in question. Specify the search location, pointing the installer to your drivers. Then force load those drivers.

Should this fail try downloading newer/better drivers. I'm a fan of http://driverpacks.net/ but for single driver you probably want to use http://www.driverguide.com/ The repeat the instructions above.
