How do I boost volume in Windows XP?

  1. Hello All,

I'm dissatisfied with my volume performance in Windows XP. I have a Compaq 2545US Laptop (about 2yrs old) and even though volume control is maxed out, I have problems hearing dialogue in Media Player, DivX player, etc. I have noticed that there are players out there that are louder than others, but over all I'm still not getting the volume I want.
Are there any 3rd party volume control programs or utilities I can use to improve performance? :chef:

You could get a new set of speakers with a volume control.
