I have Norton Internet Security 2005 installed on my PC, which includes a firewall. But how do I know if it's turned on?

    Any help is much appreciated.

if i were you i would get rid of norton as even if it has a firewall almost anything can get through nortons security they are really not a good anti virus program

You're fine. You should have two small tray icons if it is installed ok. Personnally I don't like Norton firewall, I used zonealarm in the past. But I have a router now and Windows firewall on and that's all I have really needed for a firewall. I do use norton corporate anti-virus which has been fine. I also use spybot tea-timer in my tray to catch spy-bots. Of course I have to run spybot every once in a while also.

The (almost useless) Windows firewall only protects against INCOMING traffic. A rogue dialler, or other spyware, can go OUT completely unnoticed!

If you run anti-trojan horse programs regularly, you shouldn't have problems.
