How do i make a data DVD?

Im trying to put my files on a DVD instead of 6 CDs but i cant seem to figure out how without getting all kinds of errors. I know i can write DVDs I have a TDK 880N. I tried just using windows to write the files but i kept getting errors and it wouldnt put all the files on then a tried ROXIO drag to disc but i got some more errors. I maxed out my iPod with files so i cant put anymore on that.

Im doing this because i need to reinstall windows so i dont have this hacked version with a fake key because i cant update it. Is there an easier way to do this? I really dont want to buy anything.

Ah.. The infamous "some error". Nothing can be done about those, sorry.
But all is not lost - if you could just double-check whether they really are the "some" errors or something more specific perhaps?
