How much can I overclock my AMD?

  1. I have Athlon XP 1800+ at 1.5GHz. Can I overclock it to match a Dell P4 2.2GHz? Without jeopardizing stability?

    It depends on the stepping of your core. If you are lucky (and have 1.3u core, with the right stepping), you'll be able to get up to P4@3.2GHz performance.

    Make Sure you have a good cooling system.. this is a must, use a thermaltake or zalman coolers......

    you dont need to overclock you dont have a P4

    Ok I see. Those of you that OC your AMD- how do you know how fast it is?
