    Great thanks I got rid of norton, I only had a few days left on the trial anyway. I don't like the way it comes pre-installed on brand computers.

    thanx

    i thought it was just me... my laptop has been sooo slow and it's just over a year old. i updated my norton subscription on my desktop, but didn't realize it wouldn't work for both machines. i've been (stubbornly) putting off renewing for my laptop. i just can't believe it's $40. just a year ago i paid $20. i'm not cheap, but i'm really annoyed by that ccApp.exe file that i always have to force "end program" when i shut down.

    thanks for letting me know it's ok to use the free stuff!! i'm glad i don't have to rely (or pay for) norton or mcafee!

    Aw i had such a nightmare with norton! (it came already installed on my laptop) Its awful. It wouldnt let me run MSN Messenger while it was on. Although ive got rid of it and now using Panda which is very good!

    yeah maybe norton is not good in our system due to large amount of storage being used. but when it comes to security I certainly choose norton because norton plays a big role regarding viruses and trojans. Im using norton 2005.lol.

    Its up to you guys not to choose norton, Im just sharing my experiance using norton.lol

    Yes that ccApp.exe pops up on occasion when I shut down my Norton 360 protected system. I absolutely refuse to use McAfee. I used Norton programs when they were still Norton and not Symantec. Many have a love/hate relationship with Symantec Norton. I have used several "free" protection programs, and I've always returned to Norton eventually. AVG Free or AVG purchased editions just bugged the heck out of me when it updated itself 5 or 6 times a day!

    Norton 360

    maybe norton 360 has many conflicts regarding your programs.I suggest that use norton 2005 instead of 360. Post here if there's any error regarding norton. :p

    Norton 360 is a Beta program. If all betas worked perfectly, this would be a perfect world wouldn't it... I am using Norton 360 beta because I just don't trust Microsoft's all-in-one security for Vista

    Thank you Howard

    Hi, I was just googling about the trojan Downloader.Zlob.Fc problem and the solution Howard posted worked like a charm. I thought I would browse around this forum and noticed this thread.

    I have used NIS 2006 and have just bought NIS 2007 but find this version to be slowing my computer down something huge. At first I thought it was a virus (which it was) but removing the virus didn't speed up the computer too much.

    I was wondering with the Norton Removal Tool, would it work for NIS 2007?

    The description states it works for the following:

    Norton AntiVirus 2004/2005
    * Norton AntiVirus Professional 2004
    * Norton AntiVirus 3, 5 and 10 User Pack 2004/2005
    * Norton SystemWorks 2004/2004 Professional Edition
    * Norton SystemWorks 2005/2005 Premier edition
    * Norton Password Manager 2004
    * Norton Internet Security 2004/2005
    * Norton Internet Security 5 and 10 User Pack 2004/2005
    * Norton Personal Firewall 2004/2005
    * Norton AntiSpam 2004/2005
    * Ghost 2003 or Ghost Version 9.0

    Any Insights?

    Regards.

    Hello and welcome to Techspot.

    Use this uninstall tool from HERE. Apparently it works for all Norton 2007/2006/2005/2004/2003 products.
