HP 6100 Officejet - CANT RECEIVE A FAX!

I have tried everything, the printer is on AUTO RECEIVE but it will ring ring ring and will not accept and print a fax.

This is the second unit I have had now, the first one would connect on a call but then pause and drop out. I took the unit back as faulty.

Now I have a unit that will not even connect.

Any advice would be grateful.

Settings default... I have also tried reducing rings...made sure its on TONE... etc etc.

I would reinstall the fax with the proper drivers and see if that works. Maybe call HP support. Even though they aren't the biggest help, they might work it out.

Thanks, tried calling but the help line is no more and refer me back to the net.....

I tried the reinstall.....and a new printer even but still it wont receive a fax yet if I plug the pohone line cable into the old fax machine still sitting next door it works no probs...... so why does this super all dancing printer not dance ?!?!?!?!

Try replacing the telephone cable. Might be faulty.

Is there a setting for US/European phone-system?

Can you send a fax?

Does the telephone in it work?
