DELL LATITUDE 400D
SERVICE TAG : 19SWB1J - 595B
BIOS REVISION : A07

I've removed Bios passwords with official Dell DFU tools for my laptop (D420) and for HDD I've paid 10$ for reformat HDD and that's it. You don't need to buy new HDD but all data from HDD will be lost for that price.

Please come back and post your experience.

There is no Latitude 400D
There is an Latitude D400 and an L400

It is not at all likely that all three ( 5gpu8c2 or ffu3p50 or jshec1m ) will all work in the same machine. Please let us know if any of them do.

Also, you may have trouble with the Case of the letters.
hello raybay all the 5 or 6 passwords i give must work for Hash Code is 02645.
the calculator does it random hash code and then a get a 7 digit password.

Dell Bootup Problem

Hi,

I have win a Dell X300 from ebay auction

when i use to bootup from hard drive there's a message displays: Operating System Not Found

I press F12 for bootup from HDD nothing changes.. (HDD is already windows xp installed, i tried it on another laptop, it works)

Do you know why is that?

Should i get into bios?
When i get into bios System Disabled: #14598

Computer has not any service tag

PLS HELPME

Thanks in advance

Windows XP installed on one machine will not work in another machine. Windows XP, by default, will shut down or refuse to work, if it detects the hardware has changed... which includes any change in hardware other than memory or the power supply.
You will need to reinstall using the R for Repair mode, or do a clean install.
If you are using a Dell Recovery or Restore disk, you will need a Service Tag. Otherwise, use a full or complete version of Windows. Sometimes and OEM version will work. Sometimes it will not.

i know all of these.. but,

this windows xp installed on another Dell X300 model, i have 2 X300s

actual problem is HDD is not bootup, so the message is;

OPERATING SYSTEM NOT FOUND

when i fress F12 to bootup options to select HDD, the message is same..

why is that?

It could be a jumper on the drive does not match what the BIOS needs, the EIDE or SATA cable is damages or has pulled out of its plug or socket.
But usually, if the drive is detected in The BIOS, but the Operating System is not found, it means that "A correctly installed operating sytem is not found."
Often, the error message "System Disabled: #14598" means that the operating system has been disabled. That can happen if the operating system is installed on the drive in one computer, then moved to a different computer with a different motherboard and hardware configuration.

Usually, if you install Windows in Repair mode, the problem goes away. But if you are using a Dell install disk, it won't go away without a new clean install.
There can be other factors. Carefully check, or change your cables, sockets, and pins for bent, stretched, dirty, connections.
It can also be that one or more of the first 8 sectors of the drive are damaged or corrupted.

i have checked all cables on my dell x300 laptop, there's no problem

i think main problem is about bios password right?

That is an absolute bargain. I see no reason why you should not go for it.... if you are sure it is Dell.
