Passwords

You need to be a certified tech, then you need to know how to use it. So it will be awhile.

I do not know which upsets me more, a guy like dbpk who openly asks for money, or a Dell "Mouthpiece" like raybay who backs up Dell and their Password policies, and puts out BS as he does about a method which works with about 85% of the older machines before the Dual Core/Core 2 Duo machines, and the CMOS Battery disconnect on the others with the exception of the Dell Inspiron 1000.
Even the Dual Core/Core 2 Duo and later machines will allow the resetting of the Service Tag, which will eliminate the Admin/Configure Setup Password with software only, but not the System Password. Folks with those need to either contact Dell or one of the many crackers who have a Password Generator for those later models. I have 2 of those. but will not post them here because of the moderators rules.
Incidentally, I have cracked over 60 boards and laptops with the latest a Dell
D810, which was bought and cleared after an experienced tech had given it up for dead. So no snobbery about "Experienced Techs" if you please.

ROTFLMAOTIPIMP, betcha I could generate a password within 5 minutes of getting my hands on the right software.

Seeing as I started on mainframes back in 1972 before there was even a hint of an animal called a PC, AND i have enough certifications, college degrees and training by the military over 34 years in the Marines to teach Dell technicians...oh I'm sorry, they really like to be called engineers... how to do their jobs correctly, THE FIRST TIME...I really doubt if I need to be a Dell certified technician to use their software.

This just makes me bust a gut, I am laughing so hard!!!!!!!!!! :haha:

password

I started with computers in 2000 after serving the last 10 years I was in the Airforce in SAC on a B-52D crew. In 2002, I bought a CPiA with an Admin/Configure Setup PW set but not listed on Ebay, and no help from Dell. I replaced the right half of the motherboard and got it working, but the negative feedback I got from the seller made me furious. and I reciprocated when he did that. I set out on a search for help on that tack, found it, and have been passing it on ever since to anyone who asked. I even tried pumping my daughter-in-law who is a teacher of higher math in high school about the Password Generator, but she could not help.

Hi everyone,

i bought a used Latitude x300 on eBay a while back, and just noticed that the bios setup is password protected... I tried contacting the seller, but he's not responding anymore :-(
It would be really super if someone could help out with a master password.

Service Tag: 2WTG31J
Error Code after entering a wrong password 3 times: 02806

PS:
I already tried out latitude.exe, latitude_masterpw.exe, the cmospwd suite, all with no success.

No such luck.
Isn't it still under warranty?

Check the service tag and express service code online.

Neither of these worked for our clients. If either works, or do not work, please reply with your experience, to add to the knowledge base on this forum.

A password generator gives a Master Password for just one laptop based on its Service Tag and for no other. I have used the older Latitude Master PW V2.20 on three Laptops and helped four other people, all with -D35B. Three of those also had HDD PWs set and two of those had been set on the computer they were in. Those were cleared also with this older version.

Hello , i read 2-3 days forums and manuals about password recovery for Dell Latitude D400
I have Administration password and Hard disk password from my friend that give me the laptop for re-install windows, but when i log on bios to change boot priority all options are disabled and can't touch nothing. As i understand i need some Config password ..... i remove every scew and remove all parts to find that chip on manuals that i find and i find 2 kind of EEPROM's that is different from chips on manuals and i'am scare to short them.
I'll be very glad if someone can help me.

Thanks for trying Champ!! But neither of those passwords work. Do you have any others I can try?

I power on the laptop and press F2 immediately and it prompts me for a password. I entered each of those with no luck.

Toshiba Harddrive Password

I posted about my Toshiba Satellite A55-S1063 already, But I dont know if the Harddrive is locked or not yet, being theres a power on password.

So I ordered a laptop 2.5 IDE to D 3.5 Desktop IDE adapter, so I can browse the laptop Harddrive, for anything that might lead me to the power on password.

If the laptop harddrive is password protected, I'm looking for software to help me break the password, useing my desktop pc.

I saw a thing called AFF Repair Station But you have to pay to use that.

Anyone know of anything else. I dont want to wipe/formatt the drive. I just want to see if the last person that owned it has any info, or what not that may help me out.

The laptop is not hot, so I may try to contact the original owner or something. I was told they just got tired of the thing locking the pass word automatickly and sold/tradeed it.

I got from a pc shop.

Thanks

visit http://www.download.centre4service.com/software1.html and read the Fastback68 pdf. But this will not clear your hard disk password. Just buy a new one.

5gpu8c2 or ffu3p50 or jshec1m this works 100%

Please come back and post your experience.

There is no Latitude 400D
There is an Latitude D400 and an L400

It is not at all likely that all three ( 5gpu8c2 or ffu3p50 or jshec1m ) will all work in the same machine. Please let us know if any of them do.

Also, you may have trouble with the Case of the letters.
