--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have Toshiba Satellite A55-S1063, and Upon Boot, before bios screen loads I get a Enter Password. This computer was bought from a guy who was told buy Toshiba that it needed to be sent in to fix the password prolem, it was booting up or down, and had a sudden lose of power and caused the it to ask for a password. He never entered/ or created a password of his own.
This is a common problem with this model, and others I have seen on the net. This laptop has had the numbers run buy Toshiba, and is not HOT/Stolen, it was sold as is buy the owner. He would not pay the $150.00 and send it in for repair.
So he sold it to my Boss, he runs a computer repair shop in town, and he told me if I can fix it, he'll let me have it, if not, he's may just sell it for parts.
And here I am, what I need to find is a Motherboard schmatics, or someone who can tell me where the EEPROM chip is located. And I know the risks of what I'm doing, if I mess it up, no big deal.
Was wandering if the paper clip idea would work on my toshiba?
Thats if I could locate the chip, among the 20 sum other 8 leg chips.
I was thinking if I look at, and write down all the numbers ect on these chips, could I narrow down the one it could be. Compair numbers, and rule out the ones that are simular or alike buy the numbers on the 8 leg chips.
Appreciate any help..............
Updated/ and corrected some spelling, still not a good speller, sorry.
I was doing some research, and saw that theirs something called Turnkey Password Recovery Service,Bye Password Crackers, how is this done. Do they use the USB port? They have my model listed.

Perhaps you can 'splain a bit about how you work... since you are willing to thwart the rules of this forum...
raybay said:No, we have skilled tecnicians here trained to short the EEPROM and other chips.
Our code generator cost plenty. And I assure you our engineers know how to use it... as we do similar work for corporations and aerospace engineers, here and California. It costs us nothing other than the origina cost.
The Government D610's are no different than consumer versions except that they are all passworded, and the passwords are removed when they are remaindered out for trade in or resale. When one is performned by Dell authorized by Dell, they send the code on disc, by certified express deliver. It only works on one drive. But as far as I know, all password work is done at Dell... not by field reps. A "Dell rep" is really an independent contractor who covers a territory and gets the job, one at a time, just like real folks. Talk to the Dell on-site people to see why they charge $250 to fix a password. The computer or drive is shipped to Dell. This is to keep the system secure, and the reputation for security sacrosanct... Because, as you say, what good is a security system if it is easily bypassed. This is why weI know the drive fix you described are not done by reps. They are only done at the Dell shop.
Perhaps you can tell us the brands and models you have heard about?

I have seen posts that state that you work for Dell, from you, and that you won't issue Dell Passwords because you are not allowed, yet I guess for $130, you will make an .................................

Although I do respect your past information, that you have freely provided. Some of it being extremely helpful to others.
I have felt for a long time that there were some underhanded transactions taking place. (not just you either) that have been difficult to confirm.
I have advised Moderators and Julio of your admission to payment required
And expect that your membership is now in jeopardy.
I would also like Julio to post a reminder comment to others that may be doing this here at TechSpot
