help!!! Dell latitude h500gt

i've looked everywhere to find someone to help me with my computer i'm a student and i really need to get this thing back up and running i keep getting the white page error about password authentication system and i have no idea whats going on all i can give you are my service tag and see where it goes from there thank you

also i called dell and they refuse to help unless your the owner on the account whats all that about !!!!
and tried the whole thing of pulling apart no go on that one either and the shorting out thing nothing works please someone help me i have a paper due and its on my laptop !
 
You can easily change the registration for owner of the account. Dell has a special form for doing so. But it will not happen if the laptop has been reported stolen.

You register your name and address and wait 21 days. Then go back as the registered owner.

So what happened to cause the "white page error" in the first place?
 
If you realy cant get past the passwords then you should just take ot to a dealer who has the right equipment and knowledge, i know a dealer quite well and now he even gives me discount on some software.

Another bonus of this is that he will know your system, so you can ask for advice over the phone.

The computer was left on during a storm the power went out i believe it got surged as for the password i've gotten by the first one now i just need to find out how to get rid of the hdd password that keeps comong up


i replace the hdd with an old one i had laying around and it worked fine but the one that i need to use states that its locked

and to raybay i've already contacted dell and they are working this out but i need my computer for work and school so that why i'm trying to find a quick fix to all these head aches without paying to much thank you all for you response

Anyone help with a bios password reset code for a D620, i purchased from Ebay and can't install an OS as its asking for Password when you try to change boot sequence.

read throught the thread, get the dst cd, remove or change the service tag and you will be able to change the boot order. for free!!!

It wont boot from the cdrom though, if i remove the hard drive will it boot from the next device?
 
try to access the "one time boot menu" by pressing f12 during the dell post screen. this would let you choose the device to boot from.
 
Password removal for a DELL C400

Hi everyone,
I am trying to reset, delete the BIOS passwords for a DELL C400 so I can configure the boot devices.
I can access the BIOS but I cannot change anything because it has a Configure password, which I don`t know.
DELL charges me money for the master password. Which I don`t want.
The Laptop has no drives at all, no floppy, no cd/dvd drive.
So I cannot boot from any device, also pressing F12 does not work out for me because I cannot choose my USB stick to boot from.

To do this I need the master password.
Service Tag is : 5B6PG0J-595B

I already tried to short the 24C02W6 chip on the back of the mainboard, but it did not work, the computer does not start when the chip is shortened.
The only option that I see is:
Does it work to change the chip to a new one?

please read before you post. this question was answered right above your post.
get a dvd/cd drive or prepare a hdd with dos and the service tag tools.
 
Replace chip

I cannot boot from CD DVD Floppy doesn`t have one and USB also does not work, I believe because of the Config which I cannot change. And I dont want to erase the HDD.
Is it possible to just replace the 24C02 chip with one from a memory chip for example?

Of course it is possible, but who is going to do this for you? I really don't think this is practical to do anyway
