The worst thing about that card is it's memory 128mb 64-bit really isn't great.
This one is has double the bit depth and memory size but unfortunately more than double the price:
    6200@ Newegg
Maybe you could manage with a 64bit bit depth but get least 256mb if you can there's bound to be cheaper than this out there.

If you really want to play it now buy that 9550.
I mentioned earlier and buy some more RAM.
and it should play reasonably well.

    6200 maybe?

Can't be worse than my 9250. Although maybe there's something to be said for the 6200. It seems that it might be possible to unlock 4 extra pixel pipelines in the PNY version anyway. You can't flash the bios but the pipelines can be unlocked with a tool for Nvidia cards called Rivatuner . This might put the card next to the 6600 in terms of peformance. There's a guide for the PNY card and I would imagine it would work on any 6200 but I can't say for sure. I hope this helps you in some way.

I would go with a 9600XT. It is slightly better than a 9800SE and probably just a little lower than a Radeon 9800PRO which is what I have. And I play most games on full settings and Quake 4 on medium to high with 45FPS.

how much fps will the SAPPHIRE Radeon 9550 go you think, the reviews are all alright. They say they have ran doom 3 at medium settings. At high it was a lil choppy, but anything i but now will beat mey geforce 32 mb lol.

it shud do decently, remember that 2 things that really affect the fps are resolution and the anti aliasing, if u are going to get a 6200 i wud save a bit more for a 6600 or 6600 gt, well, the 6600 is more than twice better than the 6200, and it isnt a lot more, probably like 20 or 30 bucks, its wayyy worth it, for more than double the performance, and alsol, the for the radeon i recomend ud go with the 9600 at least, also am not sure if those card are supposed to coonect to your psu, so make sure about it, and if they do make sure ur psu meets the requirements, and also, more ram could help, best of luck !

no, im going with the raddion, but how much is a 9600? an dhow much better is it compared to a 9550? Thanks

am not sure how much the 9600 is, but a 9550 can be better, it really epends on the specs, always read the specs before getting the card, compare them

Yeah get it, its good value for money, just a little over your original budget and should run most current games acceptably well.
