hey guys, i really really need your help to bring my laptop back to normal. i have this, well 2nd hand laptop but it is still running good. but the problem was, it has no antivirus running in its system. every time i connect my usb, i always got 100+ of malwares in my usb. so what i did was install the avira free antivirus. after that it was still running well, but after a day or so, it was all but crap! the laptop went dead. i ran it again and there it was - nothing but an empty screen. :(

so that's why i need your help on how to bring it back to its normal state where i can see the programs on my laptop again.

PS. i clicked the Ctrl + Alt + Del buttons and there i was able to open the task manager. since opening the task manager i was able to ran some programs because im running after the deadline of my research papers. i really need your professional help guys.

In Task Manager, click on "New task" button.
Type in:
explorer.exe
Click OK.
Will this bring your desktop icons back?

Could be, or Windows installation corruption.
Let's find out....

Let's see, if we can look at your computer booting from an external source.

Please download OTLPE (filesize 120,9 MB)

  • When downloaded double click on OTLPENet.exe and make sure there is a blank CD in your CD drive. This will automatically create a bootable CD.
  • Reboot your system using the boot CD you just created.
    • Note : If you do not know how to set your computer to boot from CD follow the steps here
  • Your system should now display a REATOGO-X-PE desktop.
  • Depending on your type of internet connection, you should be able to get online as well so you can access this topic more easily.
  • Double-click on the OTLPE icon.
  • When asked Do you wish to load the remote registry, select Yes
  • When asked Do you wish to load remote user profile(s) for scanning, select Yes
  • Ensure the box Automatically Load All Remaining Users" is checked and press OK
  • OTL should now start.
  • Under the Custom Scan box paste this in:

    /md5start
    explorer.exe
    /md5stop
  • Press Run Scan to start the scan.
  • When finished, the file will be saved in drive C:\OTL.txt
  • Copy this file to your USB drive if you do not have internet connection on this system
  • Please post the contents of the OTL.txt file in your reply.
