I usally read the full message but, I didn't have time to. I didn't read the part were you got it work so congrads on that. Also I look forward to make my own xp slp cd. Thak you very much.

I've yet to try it. I don't see why it wouldn't work for your own personal reload disk. Though if you change a piece of hardware it may not work.

I will have the opportunity to test the wpa.dbl method pretty soon, unless someone beats me to it.

wpa.dbl gets refreshed after boot-up and compared to the "old" one. it polls the hardware, and compares it to the previous dbl, if it doesn't match, it kicks on activation, that's when you have to "talk" by phone to M$ and explain to them that you have changed whatever. that's what i understand from activation being launched because of changing stuff on re-installs.

sorry, forgot the screen shot of the wpa.dbl properties.

I'm just lacking time mostly, otherwise I would try it, oh and another computer to try it on. Yeah I guess that would help too. I dought its possible for me to try it on Virtual PC with all the virtual hardware, but if I get time I'll give it a shot. Post how you make out...
puke: :dead:

You can NOT use this method on a virtual PC, that has been documented, due to the hardware hash and what not.

I've got another PC that's just wasting space, but I'm reluctant to reload it, I got it just the way I want! Though it is not the same, seeing as how I'm using corp which doesn't need activation. Though I've got a home code around here. Oh well, it's a pain. Some day...

Thanks for the answer. Now I know not to waste any time on it. Well are you still going to post your results when you find out? It would be interesting to know, plus this thread alone has made me learn more then what I expected. Do you think I could try changing the virtual bios string to the same as my mb and see if it will install on the virtual machine?
