    AVG has a free download to create a bootable CD or Memory stick that runs AVG AVG on your Windows system.
    It boots into Linux:

    Upon booting, the utility will:
    Attempt to configure your Ethernet card to connect to the Internet for updates. (when using a memory key, the updates will be kept on the key.)
    Mount your Windows Volumes

    Ping
    TestDisk
    PhotoRec - Recover Deleted Files
