Installing old hard drive into different computer

My P4 1.3 died so I am trying to install my hard drive from that computer into my old P2 400. The old computer has windows 95 and the P4 has XP. Any suggestions?

It might be worth your while to check the HAL compatibility lists at Microsoft to make sure your old P2 can work with XP.

get ready to run your repair disc (xp OS disc)
you may not have comp. issues ,but XP will sure scream at you about the new hardware,you may even have to reactivate.
