Internet is fast but disconnects randomly. Please help!!

    get a new modem? i've tried that already. made no difference. btw i have a speedstream 5200.

    That was replace by 5360, they do go bad. You have DSL if you're using one of those modems. Check your phone lines and filters. These do go bad the filters. Try buying a ultra phone line cable made by Belkin mostly CAT 5e class. This would replace the phone cord, your using.

    sorry i don't understand a few things you're saying. I should replace my modem with the 5360 model? Oh, btw the phone line is hooked up directly into the jack, no filters. When you say replace the phone line, you mean from modem to wall? I have tried three different phone lines and there's no difference.
    O btw, why has this been moved to storage and networking?? This isn't a network problem.....it's an internet issue.

    man.....i think i just realized what the problem is. I don't think its me. I think its something wrong with bell itself. Because a few days ago when i was talking to a technician who worked there on the phone, he just noticed that my dsl signal suddenly stopped and its PROBABLY something on their end. The question is why is it only affecting me, and why can't they fix the damn thing!??!?!?!?!?

    You can't get the 5360 any more it has been replace by 4100... Can't you get internet through cable tv. DSL I had for years, just nothing but trouble..
