I have been using Maxthon Browser for a while now but all of a sudden today I see something strange at the bottom of screen...[image attached]. Of course I stupidly clicked on it and a strange page came up...[image attached.
Should I be worried?
How do I get rid of it?
I tried to contact Maxthon Help, but they can take days to get back with an answer.Untitled 2.jpgUntitled 3.jpg

Did you try to reinstall Maxthon?
Are you experiencing any other computer issues?

Yes I did uninstall Maxthon and re-installed Maxthon, but it was still there.
There are no other issues.
What do you think it is?

Well let's see what's there...

Thank you so very much for your help Broni, but this thing has me worried and so I uninstalled Maxthon permanently with the Revo uninstaller.
Its a very old computer and I'm sure there are lots of weak spots in it.
Do you think it was Malware?
Please close this topic, thank you.

I finally received an answer from Maxthon and it seems they have fixed the problem.

Earlier this morning, we received reports that there were Chinese Letters appearing at the bottom of English Maxthon browsers. THIS IS NOT A VIRIUS, WE HAVE NOT BEEN HACKED. This is a Maxthon Browser trick that was missed during translation. We've contacted the engineers responsible and this should be fixed.
