JS/downloader.agent

  1. Hi ,
    This is my first post and thank you for all the imformation i have already gleaned. My dad has just become a silver surfer and as luck would have it as been infected with JS/Downloader.agent . He has free AVG version which cannot repair or even place in the vault it seems.I take it from what i have already read that you will advise me to go through the 16 or so steps to try and rid the computer. I think i understand most of them but am a bit confused about uploading the reports you need. Is this what you advise

    With regards to your problem, read this and go through the instructions one step at a time and you should be ok :) There is a link that tells you how to attach logs to your posts.

    Please read this thread If your system is infected, read this before deciding whether to Clean or Format.

    If you decide to clean your system, follow these instructions Virus/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions and post fresh HJT, Combofix, and AVG Antispyware logs as attachments to this thread as well as the result of the Panda Antirootkit scan.
