Just a quick note...

I agree with agissi that it shouldn't just be gift certificates, but either a prize or the gc.
(One of the reasons is that if it's a prize I don't have to pay import tax on it, but if it's a gc...... Thus I'd prefer to save that money)

I really like the idea about an X800 as one of the prizes though! Then maybe I could get one this summer even without a job

An external harddrive might be cool, but aren't they very expensive compared to what you get? (Just thinking that maybe for the price of one external you could get 2 other prizes?) But I like the idea about a harddrive as a prize.

1st prize, Athlon 64 chip and mobo

2nd prize, nVidia Ultra Something

3rd prize, 2 x 512MB RAM

Well whichever price would feel nice

Here's an idea, let's have a contest to determine the prizes of the contest

If the prizes were gift certificates I think a few people like me would be out as newegg.com only ships to the US and no international shipping.

I also think having a contest to decide what prizes for the contest is too excessive. It really wouldn't be a contest if you don't get anything. A simple poll could do for what the prizes will be but I do like it if a X800 or another vid card was a prize and I am sure no one wouldn't disagree. And if it was a poll then only members can vote which means only members should be able to enter.

How about we have a poll on what equipment should be up for grabs?

And the problem with the suggested prize of a Athlon 64 chip is that it then forces the user to get a new motherboard since they can't just plug it in an go.
I think sticking to a Peripheral would be a better choice for a prize.

How about some Klipsch or something. Maybe even a game or two with a video card .

Video Card/Sound Card/Dvd Drive whatever doesn't require another update sounds great to me.

A hard drive mp3 player would be cool. I have been thinking about getting one. It's a peripheral so all you need would be a computer and some mp3s. Where those mp3s come from is none of my business. :angel:

Doom III??? Are you on crack that could be the last place prize. A $50 game as a prize as to a kickass X800. It doesn't take alot to say which you would want. I say X800 as one prize. Who wouldn't want one? An X800 would require no upgrading of anything so its a win, win situation. Come'on.... come'on now.
