I was having pop-up messages indicating I had infections (trojans and warms) from a program I was unaware was on my computer.

I went through the 8-step process. I will be honest, though I really didn't understand the second part of step 2 so I may not have completed this correctly. I did disable my real time monitoring program but to be honest, I have no idea what the file sharing programs are.

Needless to say, I have attached all of the requested logs. I am not very knowlegeable about computer issues......just as an fyi. A little hand holding is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    KNew

Your hijackthis log looks good, only one entry in your registry but it's minor.
    O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {BA52B914-B692-46c4-B683-905236F6F655} - (no file)
Your malware scan found quite a few and seems they were taken care of.
Wait for an official reply on your scans, you may receive recommendations.
Let us know if your pop-ups are still occuring.

Note: file sharing programs are programs like Limewire, WinMX, or any torrent downloader- utorrent, etc.

    thanks....

    Strategic,

Thanks for the initial heads-up. It was time consuming but I guess if it was easy, there would be a button on the computer that say's "Press here".

I'm going to do the same thing to my son's computer....after I take a breather.

    Thanks again,

    Kim

Well if you want something like that, install this, http://www.techspot.com/downloads/3160-advanced-windowscare-systemcare-free.html I just started using it on a few systems I maintain and it works great. By all means, don't use it to replace the 8-step procedure though.
Note: the button doesn't say 'press here' it says "care"
