Keep getting blue screen all of a sudden..why?

my computer is crashing more frequently beginning about 4 days ago...I have only had windows updates installed recently...I also believe this could have been caused by a corrupted hdmi cable because thats when this whole blue screen thing began. please help i am starting to get worried as I've never experienced this type of issue before.
