In brief: Graphics cards in Europe have fallen to their lowest point since at least January 2021, with both Nvidia and AMD products selling for around 9% - 14% under MSRP. A series of factors have led us to this point, though the main one has been the crypto winter that led to people getting out of the mining business and selling their cards.

We've been using 3DCenter's data as a benchmark for graphics card prices for a while now. Although it only uses retail selling prices in Germany and Austria, they're still a good indication of global trends.

The latest results show that average GPU prices in the countries have now fallen to their lowest points since 3DCenter's records began at the start of last year. Nvidia's RTX 3000 series is now going for 9% under MRSP, while AMD's Radeon RX 6000 series has fallen even further, down to 14% beneath the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price.

We've been observing this trend for a few months now. AMD's series was the first to drop below MSRP in mid-June, followed by the RTX 3000 line soon after. It's a far cry from May 2021 when team green's cards were over 200% above MSRP, and the Radeon RX 6000 cards were more than double MSRP.

Availability, once a problem as bad as the sky-high prices, also looks to be a thing of the past. The only RTX 3000 card not to receive five stars in this area is the RTX 3090 Ti (four stars). AMD, which has long fared worse when it comes to availability, has fives and fours across the board, the exceptions being the Radeon RX 6950 XT, RX 6800, and RX 6400, all of which have three stars.

The current situation is a massive contrast to lockdown times when crypto prices were high, demand was through the roof, and the chip crisis was at its worst. As ex-miners sell their cards at a discount and the shaky economy makes consumers think twice before splashing out on big purchases, Nvidia is sitting on an excess of GPUs that has seen the company cut prices and reportedly kill off SKUs as it looks to clear stock before Ada Lovelace arrives.

The dilemma facing PC owners looking to upgrade is whether to buy now, wait to see if prices fall even further, or hang on until the RTX 4000/Radeon RX 7000 series arrive. Given that Lovelace is rumored to be as expensive as it is power hungry, the decision isn't an easy one.

Here in East Europe - Romania, only AMD GPU's are under MSRP.
Nvidia is at least 100 Euro more than MSRP, starting with 3050.
A 6600XT is the same price as 3050, wtf

I think the article was only referring to 1st World European countries.

The cheapest RTX 3070 I have found on Geihzals site is 589 EUR. RX 6700 XT is 478 EUR and that's just Mindfactory that only sells in Germany. If you want the "premium" ones with better cooling and all that jazz you're gonna pay much more than that.

FYI the RTX 3070 msrp is $499 and rtx 3060 is $329 even in the states they are still inflated at 15 to 30% over MSRP. It seems that the higher you go the closer you get in tear performance to close to or lower than MSRP. The best discount now is the 6900 xt close to $700.

RTX 3050 = £299. (MSRP = £249). Another 25% fall and observable reality will actually match clickbait headlines for "budget" cards.

Edit: A whopping 47% price fall and it'll match the £159 I paid for a GTX 1660 a couple of years ago that's 90% as fast. Someone is having a laugh somewhere...

Got an msi ventus 3070 for my new b660 build on saturday for like $520 usd. a smidge over msrp but I'm happy it was that low. jumping to a 3070ti was another $200 and the 3060ti was like $40 cheaper and the regular 3060 followed the same pattern so I didn't really see a reason to not get the 70 non ti since I'm only doing 1080p 144hz in esports games anyway. should be a nice rig for 1080p for 3 years with this 12400f. who knows? we'll see.

Germany does not equal Europe.
And the wrong graph was copied (not showing July results).
Does anyone try to understand and verify what they read or is it just mindless copying?

When the 4 series drops and the usual suspects keep them unavailable, the prices of the 3 series will go back up. Buy now if you really want a new card and don't wanna wait another year or 2 for 'normal' pricing.

Ney, dont buy at all for at least 2 years. After last 2 years I would reconsider both AMD and Nvidia. Maybe also the AIB's and retailers.
All were acting like a mafia or a cartel.
Forget "normal prices", it wont get back after all seen that we can pay 2500+ for a GPU.

Afox GeForce RTX 3080 10GB GDDR6X Κάρτα Γραφικών PCI-E x16 4.0 με HDMI και 3 DisplayPort -2049€

Inno 3D GeForce RTX 3080 10GB GDDR6X X3 LHR Κάρτα Γραφικών PCI-E x16 4.0 με HDMI και 3 DisplayPort -901€

The most expensive and the cheapest with another 30 Gpus in between with various prices ,in what Europe are you referring exactly? When I see the lowest price at 700€ then we can talk about dilemmas ,see ya next year ,at least in Greece!!

Better here than West and Central Europe, at least here I dont pay rent 10x as in Germany or France.
I was asked to join my organization in Munich, when I saw the rent prices I just say "No thank you".
2500 euro for a shlt 2 bedroom outside city. And that is the "cold price".
Dublin rents are as bad.

Yep same, I bought my 1660 Super for around £180 a couple of years back. Might get a 6600XT when it hit's that price point but these current stupid prices are still an absolute joke
