Microsoft customer satisfaction drops to almost Vista-era lows

Why don't you give the SSD credit where credit is due. I seriously doubt you would see such dramatic difference in boot time between Win 7 & Win 8, if both were running standard HDDs.

So, I'm sure everyone's tablet toy thingy boots like crazy.

And BTW, every time you watch a lousy movie you lose at least and hour an a half!

I just lost a few of minutes making this post. But am I bitter about it.....?

Um, let me get back to you on that.
ok I don't know but I really hate to wait and I need you to know I have SSD installed in my PC and the both systems been tested on the same PC with no any changes windows 8 is really good for me and I really do a lot of work on my PC and its Never been done better!! ok maybe its not good for you but I can't imagine why!! that's the point for me anyway never mind keep using windows 7

Maybe next time you'll do us the courtesy of a punctuation mark here or there Oh wait I bet you save time not bothering with them

I'm happy you're happy.

I didn't need your permission to continue using Windows 7.

OTOH, now I am bitter wasting the time responding to your post. IMHO, it would have been better spent waiting for my old fashioned HDDs to boot. Or for that matter, watching grass grow...:)

Most people who dislike windows 8 have not used it for more than 5 minutes. Its really efficient, it takes nothing to run it, its speeds in searching, booting, loading, etc are a huge improvement in general. Its a great software, just a lot of people are giving it negative flak because they feel it looks too much like a tablet OS and wont try it. Ive literally only had two problems with 8 and those were the loss of a few shortcuts and compatibility issues with a few games which have been fixed.

Honestly, if many of yall would cool it and actually try it, its fun to use and makes for a nice fast computer.

Well, I'm not important enough to need 15 second boot times, so I guess the SSD is out. So, on to Win 8.

And I'm not up for spending $100.00 bucks on a new OS I really don't need, not even on your say so. (Like that matters).

So, take a bit of your own advice, and "cool it". I'm a pro at spending my own money, I don't need or want outside help. In fact, I won't even start a thread if I'm going to do a new build, because I don't want or need help with that either.

I used to be a salesman. So, from someone with experience in that field's perspective, all threads like this amount are this. Somebody gets it in their head they're going to sell somebody something. Consciously or unconsciously, it's just an ego game. I'm going to make you reach in your pocket and cough up the money for "X", "Y", or "Z", because I told you to.

Oddly, all the people that spent their money for Windows 8, seem to be ecstatic with it.

The other side of the coin is most people are happy, claim they're happy, or force themselves to be happy with their purchases, because otherwise, they'd have to admit they made a bad choice.

I'm not saying that's in play here, but I do take "proud owner's testimonials", with a bit more than a grain of salt.

And now we're at the point where I expect the next thing I'll be told is, "how I'm holding back progress", how much smarter the Win 8 adopters are than me, and on.

I'll be here, with my old, uncool OS, waiting for the next "development".:)

Just for the record, I never said for you to go buy Windows 8 nor did I aim any comment specifically at you. I mean the cool it as a general term to all the people hating on windows 8 who have not used it for more than like a second and said its garbage.

You are a pro at spending your own money, its your money, if you don't want to upgrade great. All I said was a general statement saying to the people don't knock it till you try it. Same with it being my recommendation, just take it as one person who owns it saying they like it, nothing more, nothing less. You should not be forced to spend the money on it if you don't want to.

If you think im saying "Buy this now, or your an *****", than I apologize because my words were misinterpreted or written in a way that they were interpreted as such. I said for the haters to cool it just until they try it for awhile and then decide if they still don't like it.

Oh gosh, my syntax is my syntax. God knows they've been trying to cure me of it for years. "Admission absolves guilt", right?

When I was growing up, door to door sales were much more prevalent than they are now. Ostensibly, the internet has done away with that, and the best website gets the sale.

But, M$ reminds me of the door to door salesman that simply won't go away. They're speeding up releases of new OS', jamming ridiculous TV spots that are stupid to the point of being offensive down our throats, and forcing an impractical GUI down the throats of desktop users.

So, most of the resistance to Windows 8, is reaction to M$'s bullying, and blatant attempts to grab as much money as they can, while foisting off Steve Ballmer's bulls*** on an unsuspecting public.

So, M$ is trying to create a need that doesn't exist for desktop users, and pander to every imbecile in the world waving a tablet around thinking they're "the cat's meow", while at the same time being bilked for enormous monthly sums by their friendly neighborhood telecoms. I mean think about it, how importantly is it to be able to watch EVERY NFL game EVERY Sunday? They are all 4 hours long. So consider this, if you watched every one, you'd be watching until the following Thursday.(without benefit of sleep).

In point of fact, and in certain contexts, XP outperforms Windows 7. It runs better on less hardware. Do I need Win 8 and a 2600K based machine to cruise the web for "erotic art"? You figure that out...

I just booted my eMachine T-5026, (P-4 3.06Ghz, XP SP-2, 1.5GB of DDR 333Mhz(!)), and had a vulgar movie playing on the desktop in 00:01:40. Did I need that to happen faster? Not really. Not to mention that touch control would be a major distraction..

So, until those who are proselytizing Windows 8 comes "to grips" with the possibility they might be on the M$ bandwagon, either knowingly or otherwise, I'll keep reminding them that, having the "very latest greatest thing from M$ and chipzilla" differs very little from marching down to the iHole and grabbing one of the new "revolutionary" Apple "trashcans". It's really the same act, under a different flag. But isn't that why all wars are fought, for different flags?

I've been here pushing 7 years, and most of these threads do have an undercurrent of battling egos, wills, hurt feelings, and salesmanship. Nobody really plans it that way, it's just "human nature", "the male ego at work", call it what you will.. Hence the qualifier I stuck in the post you're responding to, "either consciously or unconsciously".

We're all salesmen at heart, whether we know it or not.

Well I...umm................I....
