Not becasue you are greedy or optimistic ... it makes sense.

Glass is filled with water .. not empty of or missing water ...
Filling ... until full.

Another try :

If you're filling a glass, then when the liquid level reaches the midway point, the glass is half full.

If you're emptying a glass, then when the liquid level reaches the midway point, the glass is half empty.

In school we were told that people with writing slanting upwards, were positive minded, and vice versa. Well, we all started the upward slant.

i would say it depends on what your drinking, if you like the drink then its half empty, if you dislike drink, then its half full

- if the glass is being filled, it is half full.

- if the glass is being emptied, it is half empty

- if the glass is sitting unmolested, it is a half glass (of whatever)

Now, why tell us that this is not the most important question in the world. We all know that. This approach spoils all the "fun". Why not, take a deep breath, and come up with another more "philosophical" response, worthy of the utter nonsense that this thread is. You know, let pseudo-intellectualism have it's long winded pointless say.

Historically speaking this site was considering stopping polls due, to all of the stupid ones started by God of Mana" (and others). I said we should keep them, a decision I have come to question, deeply, along the lines of, "why am I posting to this thread, am I half crazy or only half sane"?
