Mouse pointer inoperable in MS Flight Sim

My mouse pointer does not appear on the screen during 2d and virtual panel views in either fs9 or ffx. Works great in menus and other places but not on the panels. It has worked perfectly for years in XP and W7 release candidate, but not since I installed the commercial version W7pro. Any ideas?
